Aviator™ gives boats aircraft-level, three-axis control by incorporating Near-surface Foils™ that actively cancel waves and keep a calm, level deck underway.
How it works
Giving boats active control in pitch and roll - like an airplane
Our patent-pending StableGlide™ technology uses active Near-surface Foils™ located fore and aft of the boat’s center of gravity. Near-surface foils™ deliver aircraft-style control in both pitch and roll, generating powerful lift or downforce on demand. Controlled by a fly-by-wire system, they actively cancel waves to keep the boat calm and level. There’s an added bonus: near-surface foils™ create lift with far less drag than a hull does on the surface, so a boat with near-surface foils™ cruises more efficiently and uses less power to achieve the same speed.
StableGlide™ and our hull design technology are compatible with any planing hull category and make every type markedly better — from center consoles and sportfish to cruisers and day boats. The near-surface foils™ retract like an outboard for easy trailering and beaching. Swept leading edges shed debris, and the wings never extend below the props, preserving shallow draft underway. The result: Significantly more capable boats with zero compromise to real-world usability.
When driving the boat, owners don’t have to worry or do anything. The system continuously monitors vessel attitude and speed, then adjusts the near-surface foils™ at split-second intervals to keep the boat level and comfortable. To everyone on board, it feels like the waves aren’t even there. No pitching or pounding, no rolling or sudden attitude changes — just a confidence-inspiring, smile-making, smooth ride.
